As a hands-on GC expert, you enjoy working in the laboratory and solving analytical challenges through practical expertise. You combine strong technical skills with a critical mindset and take pride in generating high-quality analytical data. Some days that means solving analytical mysteries... and some days it means convincing a stubborn GC system to cooperate 🙂. 

• You independently perform GC analyses on a wide variety of samples and matrices. 

• You execute sample preparation, instrument operation, data acquisition and data processing with a strong focus on quality and accuracy. 

• You organize your daily laboratory activities and efficiently manage instrument time and workload. 

• You critically evaluate analytical data and identify abnormalities requiring further investigation. 

• You document experiments and prepare technical reports according to company standards. 

• You support method implementation, optimization and development activities together with scientists when required. 

• You troubleshoot instrument issues and contribute to the reliable operation of our GC platform. 

• You share your expertise and support colleagues in the successful execution of analytical work. 

• Sometimes you'll be searching for a root cause. Sometimes you'll be searching for a missing peak. Both can take longer than expected. 

• You report to the Group Lead.

• You have a passion for analytical chemistry and enjoy working in the laboratory. 

• You possess strong hands-on expertise in GC. 

• You have experience with GC-FID, GC-MS or related detection techniques. 

• You are comfortable operating, maintaining and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation. 

• You are familiar with sample preparation techniques such as solid phase extraction, liquid extraction and derivatization. 

• You are recognized as a reliable and skilled laboratory professional who consistently delivers high-quality results. 

• You have a critical mindset and strong attention to detail. 

• You apply good documentation practices in all aspects of your work. 

• You are organized, proactive and capable of working independently. 

• You are a team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues. 

• You communicate clearly and can write technical reports in English. 

• When deadlines are tight, instruments are acting up and results are not behaving as expected, you remain calm and analytical 😎. 

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field. 

• You bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience in GC and know your way around a GC system without having to consult the manual every five minutes.
